Adamson Riva & Lepley Architects is a full-service architectural firm with mainland and coastal expertise in both residential and commercial buildings. Our projects include new construction, addition and renovation of existing buildings, preservation of historic structures, and overall site and space planning.
We believe that a building should maintain a harmonious connection to its context. It is only through careful site analysis, study of building type, program constraints and a precise understanding and examination of the client’s needs and objectives that we begin the design process.

Licensed in both New Jersey and Vermont, Mr. Adamson has over 25 years of experience in the design, development and implementation of a variety of project types including residential, historical renovation, commercial development and retail. His motivated approach to each project includes planning, feasibility studies, programming, as-built documentation, construction documentation and construction administration with an emphasis on design, structural development and client interaction. Mr. Adamson’s complement of experience allows us to provide our clients with consistent service with an energetic approach to design.
Licensed in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, Mr. Riva has over 25 years of experience in the development of educational, healthcare, religious, professional office, restaurant, retail and residential structures. His skills include master planning, site development, programming, code research, construction documentation, interior design, and project administration. Mr. Riva relies on maintaining positive relationships through open communication and providing immediate responses to clients, consultants, and contractors in an effort to successfully complete projects in a timely manner and within budget.
Scott Lepley has over 40 years of experience in the architectural profession following 12 years as a general contractor. His background is primarily in design and construction of single and multi-family residential projects, as well as light commercial and religious facilities. He has particular expertise in site development, sustainable construction, energy efficiency, handicapped accessible design as well as a keen understanding of coastal and wood-framed construction. He currently sits on the Lacey Township ADA Advisory Committee, the Ocean County Cultural Access Advisory Committee, and is a past member of the Ocean County Library ADA Advisory Committee and commissioner with the Ocean County Office for Individuals with Disabilities.
